NEWS & PRESS ARTICLES 16.10.2009 - Over 125 mln zloty for Krakow LifeScience Park
On the October 16th, 2009 the representatives of the Polish Agency of Regional Development (PRAP) and Krakow’s company Jagiellonian Center of Innovation, have signed an official document contracting the financial support given to the company for development of 2nd stage of the project “Construction and development of Jagiellonian LifeScience Technology Park “. The total amount of financial support for the investment is estimated for 125 mln PLN.
The contract was signed by v-ce Director of PARP, Dariusz Szewczyk and the CEO of JCI, Pawel Blachno. The support was awarded to the company based on the European Union financial program 5.3 Support for the Innovation Centers and POIG 2007 – 2013.
It is a next milestone and the crucial moment for the company – said Pawel Blachno, JCI’s CEO – currently, we are offering a laboratory area available for rent t investors form the life science sector, with a special emphasis on biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. As a result of the awarded investment, will be development of the laboratory space, exclusively devoted as a venture accelerator for small start-up companies, located in building number 2, so called BioIncubator. The third building will accommodate well established companies from life science sector in a large and fully adaptable laboratory space. A construction of the two new buildings will stimulate entrepreneurship, generate jobs and tax revenue for the region, and enable transfer technology to the industry with a greater success.
